Anyway, you all know that mom does a lot of volunteer work with the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League. She has spent every spare minute the past few weeks preparing for their next big event: BARKFEST. Here's some of the information about it.

Join the Brookhaven Animal Rescue League (BARL) volunteers and the Brookhaven Animal Rescue Klub (BARK) members on Sunday, March 25th for "BARK FEST 2012 – A Celebration of Rescued Animals and the People Who Love Them."
The inaugural event will take place on the Mississippi School of the Arts campus in downtown Brookhaven.
BARK FEST 2012 gets started on a delicious note with “Spay-ghetti” plates being served on campus beginning at noon. Guests may dine on the grounds or pick up a plate to go. “Spay-ghetti” plates are $7 and come complete with all the trimmings.
The fun and games begin at 12:30 p.m. and continue until 4:00 p.m. Activities will include something for people of all ages – and their pets too! Leashed pets are welcome to be a part of the fun. A small fee will be charged for the activities.
· Bark-a-Lishis Lemonade Stand
· Eye-of-the-Tiger Face Painting
· Bow-Wow-Meow Bake Sale
· Petals-for-Pets Plant Sale
· Hound Dog Hay Ride
· E-PAW-Mony (think E-Harmony) – adoptable BARL pets will be matched with adopters
· Good-Ole-Fashioned Games for you and your pet
· The Cat’s Meow Upscale Resale Shop will feature vintage, gently used and new items.
Join in the games or just bring out your blanket and lawn chair and lounge around enjoying the afternoon in the Rest-Your-Pet Spot while enjoying some live music.
“The kids from MSA have been very involved in BARL activities for the last two years, and recently formed a club called the Brookhaven Animal Rescue Klub (BARK). Club members come to the Adoption Center to socialize the animals by walking the dogs and playing with the cats. This socialization goes a long way in helping to get an animal adopted. The students are also a huge help at our off-site adoption events,” said Lu Becker, BARL president.

| Won't you take me home? |
This is really gearing up to be a big day. It is scheduled to take place between church services and will be fun for the entire family. Sit and be entertained by our live bands as you munch on a plate of Spay-ghetti. Parents will love The Cat's Meow Shopping Booth and the kids will enjoy the games, jump house, and face painting. There will be plenty for Fido to do too - The Pampered Pooch booth will do "hair and nails", The Artistic Doggie will allow your dog to showcase his painting skills. The Canine Olympics will feature a small dog show, relay races, and Prancing With the Stars!!

| I'm a sweet guy and would make a great BFF for YOU. |
So it isn't that we've forgotten you... mom just has her hands full. Besides all this we had one human kid take a fall at the skating rink and sprain her wrist. Then three of the four human kids had the flu. It's been crazy, y'all, but that's life!
We wuf vu all and hope to catch up with you very soon.
And any of you folks that are close enough to come out to BARKFEST, we hope to see you there!!

We have missed you and the rest of the family, Boondocks. But we can see how important that work is your Mom has been doing - she is very good to help out. The event sounds like a lot of fun, wish we could go too.
